Assalamu alaykum

 Actions speak louder then words.

Some ask how this Ummah can help those around us… well heres an idea!

An Ummah at its best….

Assalamu alaykum

“Whosoever removes a worldly grief from a believer, Allah will remove from him one of the grief’s of the Day of Judgment. Whosoever alleviates the suffering of a needy person, Allah will alleviate his suffering in this world and the next. Whosoever shields a Muslim, Allah will shield him in this world and the next. Allah will aid a servant of His so long as the servant aids his brother.”

[Sahih Muslim]

“Assalamu alaikum
First of all, congratulations to you all for an amazing achievement for the ummah! Sisters are increasingly side-lined by society and, dare i say it, the ‘trendy ummah’ for holding a strong alliance with Allah and the Rasool, May Allah’s peace and blessing be upon him, so it’s great seeing them put in their respectful place; individuals to be honoured, appreciated, valued and loved.
Mashallah, i am truly happy to see such commitment and dedication towards building a stronger sisterhood. “

“As Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah,Alhamdulillahir Rabbil ‘Alimeen. This magazine is most excellent. I was looking forward to it, and was not disapointed in the least. Everyone has put such thought and creativity in each and every section. I look forward to benefiting from this special endeavor. May Allah, Subhannahu wa ta’ala, grant abundant success to “Sisters Magazine”. Ameen. “

“As salaamu alaikum
I just browsed through the magazine and without reading much more than the blurbs and titles of articles, I have to say masha Allah – what a tranquil magazine…I really love the look…it is classy, feminine, minimilastic, not overly floral…it is so peaceful masha Allah.
I find that the content is really holistic as well with wide range of subjects covered.
Is there way at all we can have a print edition?
Please pass my heartfelt congrats on to all the sisters for their hard work and dedication – I’m so inspired.”

Man forced to ‘marry’ goat

A Sudanese man has been forced to take a goat as his ‘wife’, after he was caught in a compromising position with the creature.

The goat’s owner, Mr Alifi, said he surprised the man with his goat and took him to a council of elders.

They ordered the man, Mr Tombe, to pay a dowry of 15,000 Sudanese dinars (£25) to Mr Alifi.

“We have given him the goat, and as far as we know they are still together,” Mr Alifi said.

Mr Alifi told a local newspaper that he heard a loud noise late at night and rushed outside to find Mr Tombe with his goat.

“When I asked him: ‘What are you doing there?’, he fell off the back of the goat, so I captured and tied him up.”

Mr Alifi then called elders to decide how to deal with the case.

“They said I should not take him to the police, but rather let him pay a dowry for my goat because he used it as his wife,” Mr Alifi added.

Assalamu alaykum

yep its that time of year again.. no no not exams!… I am not talking about the dreaded revision time, but yep I am talking about the time of dates & milk, the time when all the young girls try to hide from their mothers friends, the time when shoping spree become the norm (likle they ever cease to!), the time when the price of gold rises, the time the duff gets the dust blown off, and the vocal cordes are geared (some what) into tune… oh o… dun dun dunnnnn!… WEDDING TIME!!!

A friend of mine e-mialed me this!… lol!.. it did make me smile a little, ok i makde me smile alot! 😀

“When I was younger I hated going to weddings. It seemed that all of my aunts and the grandmotherly types used to come up to me, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, ‘You’re next.’They stopped that after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.”

But hey its not wrong, Ive heard that “your next” line sooo many times (even when technically I wasnt! :p ) I’ve started saying it too, well it may be because I am morphing into one of those grandmotherly types.. (:o ya allah scary thought!) anywayz… what was I saying.. ah yes how can I forget, wedding season!

It kind of makes me laugh and smile, you know its tradition when the bride goes off into the back of some car (its either a black limo or a dingy old banga… depends of what kind of wedding it is, or whos wedding it is.) so its tradition for all the women to cry, well big supriise not me, I’m usally in the back smiling from ear to ear mostly because its so funny to see all these women that never even met the bride before they ate all their food, now you see them crying like it was their own wedding… hmm I wounder if they crying because of the thought of their own weddings.

Actually thats a good point, (hmm do I make sense or what!!!-note retorical question 😉 ) Do the women cry becuase they remember their own marriage and think that this poor little girl will go through the same thing as they did??… hmmm 😕

Anyway, next time you go to someones wedding, dont cry, smile, its a new begining, in fact some say its the start of a whole new life…. (or the end of one 😀 )

I’ll levae you with that thought!
