Ibn Mas’ood (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (may Allaah bless him and grant him peace) said, “None of my companions should convey to me anything regarding another because I desire to meet everyone one of you with a clean heart.” [Abu Dawood and at-Tirmidhi]
Commentary: ‘Should not convey to me anything’ here signifies anything undesirable or that which is harmful for the person concerned. Thus, this hadeeth stresses that defects of people should not be unnecessarily reported to those who are at the helm of affairs.

salamunalaikum!
Allahukber! what a great n important hadith it is for one n all.
One who cannot praise his brother/sister should not even criticise him/her.
It’s better to eat rotten meat rather than eating a bro/sis flesh by backbiting him/her.
